‘Shobdo Brahma’ felicitates 4 renowned artists of Barak Valley on World Music Day

June 21: The World Music Day is celebrated every year on June 21 in over 120 countries including its country of origin France where it is known as ‘Fête de la Musique’ meaning “festival of music” to honour both amateur and professional musicians. However, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the day could not be celebrated like the previous years. But that could hardly dampen the spirit of the music lovers. Online musical shows were held almost everywhere. Many veteran musicians were also honoured on this day.

A musical group ‘Shobdo Brahma’ came forward and organised a small felicitation programme on the World Music Day. Four renowned artists of Barak Valley were honoured by them. The artists who were felicitated are Bhaskar Choudhury (Tabla Player), Ratan Biswas (Sitar player), Nipen Kumar Das (Dutara player) and Dhiranjan Chakraborty (Sri Khol player).
