2 contractual meter readers terminated for doing fraud, APDCL cautions consumers

Aug. 18: Two outsourced (contractual) Meter Readers of Silchar ESD-II of APDCL, namely, Prasenjit Das of Silcoorie and Bhim Chandra Das from Harintilla have been immediately terminated from their duties for allegedly collecting money from consumers issuing forged receipts and involvement in other frauds. This was stated in a notification issued by APDCL Silchar Electrical Sub-Division-II for the attention of the consumers on Thursday.

APDCL further informed that an FIR has already been lodged in this connection against these two persons at Silchar Police Station. “We request our consumers not to do any transaction related to APDCL with them as they are no longer associated with us. APDCL will not be responsible for any financial loss occurred to anyone dealing with them at their own risk,” stated APDCL Silchar Electrical Sub-Division-II.
