Several new Containment Zones declared in many parts of Cachar on Tuesday
July 7: In view of detection of many COVID-19 patients on Tuesday, District Magistrate Keerthi Jalli declared containment zones in the area surrounding their houses. A family of three tested positive on 6 July. They include 34-year-old Manish Kumar, his 34-year-old wife Sudha Singh and their 15-month-old baby. They were all air passengers and came from Patna on 4 July. They were put under home quarantine. On 6 July, their test reports came and all of them were found to be COVID-19 positive. They were ofcourse asymptomatic.
As a result, to contain the further spread of the virus, the area surrounding the House of Manish Kumar, House No.29, C/O. Tulsi Purkayastha, Bholagiri Ashram Road, Rangirkhari, Silchar was declared as a containment zone and it was immediately sealed. Further, the area inside the following geographical boundaries was also sealed:
- North: Bholagiri Ashram Road
- South: Sri Ram Sarani
- East: Building of Sanjoy Ghosh
- West: Building of Prahlad Paul
Nobibul Islam Laskar, a 27-year-old man was also infected with coronavirus. As such, to contain the further spread of the virus, the area surrounding his house C/O. Maksud Ahmed Laskar, Saratpally Last, Kanakpur Idgah, Kanakpur Pt-1, Silchar was declared as a containment zone and it was immediately sealed. Further, the area inside the following geographical boundaries was also sealed:
- North: House of Sahid Mazumder
- South: Vacant land & saw mill
- East: Barak River
- West: PWD cum E&D Road
A 32-year-old male, Bijon Das also tested positive. Therefore, to contain the further spread of the virus, the area surrounding his house C/O. Pallab Das, House No. 122 (Near Deb Tara Gas Agency), Chirukandi, Ramnagar was declared as a containment zone and it was immediately sealed. Further, the area inside the following geographical boundaries was also sealed:
- North: House of Babli Das
- South: Vacant Land
- East: House of Gour Mithai
- West: Vacant Land
Khaled Hassan, a 2o-year-old male was also infected with coronavirus. As such, to contain the further spread of the virus, the area surrounding his house at Didarkhush Pt-IV, Cachar, Assam was declared as a containment zone and it was immediately sealed. Further, the area inside the following geographical boundaries was also sealed:
- North: Residence of Komrul Haque
- South: Residence of Binaj Uddin
- East: Common lane shared by many families
- West: Small pond of Ainul Haque
To implement the above instructions, following restrictions were also imposed in the geographical areas mentioned against each person:
- Clear entry and exit points are to be established.
- No unauthorised entry and exit of the residents in the contained area will be allowed.
- Vehicular movement is to be strictly prohibited.
- No movement is to be allowed except for medical emergencies, essential goods and services.
- No unchecked influx of population is to be allowed
- People transiting are to be recorded and followed through IDSP.
- Stricter enforcement of all statutory directions regarding social distancing.
District Magistrate Keerthi Jalli stated that the orders are issued under the Regulations “The Assam COVID-19 Regulations, 2020” and shall be effective from 1600 hours of 07 July, 2020 until further orders.
