Senior CPI(M) leader’s house ransacked, around 20 workers injured
Dec. 21: Around 20 CPI (M) workers were injured in an alleged attack by party workers of Bharatiya Janata Party in Western Tripura on Sunday. A gang of miscreants had allegedly ransacked the residence of Pabitra Kar, a senior CPI-M leader and a former State Minister. Kar alleged that the attack was carried on by the “goons of BJP.” Three journalists were also attacked while they were on their way to Khayerpur to cover the incident.
The Left party was organising a commemorative meeting in Western Tripura in memory of the 30 martyred farmers when a group of miscreants allegedly attacked them. The 5 time MLA Pabitra Kar told that at least 20 CPI-M workers including women were allegedly injured in the attack, out of which the condition of 3 are critical. It was further alleged that “the goons” damaged several motorbikes and party vehicles.
On the other hand, BJP leaders in Khayerpur have refuted the allegations levelled by Pabitra Kar and said that it was an internal clash within the CPI(M).
