Scrutiny Committee formed for selection of beneficiaries under Orunodoi Scheme in Cachar district
Sept.23: A Scrutiny Committee has been formed in Cachar district for selection of beneficiaries under the Orunodoi Scheme. The committee consists of the Chief Executive Officer of Cachar District Council as the Chairperson and the Senior Planning Officer of the Transformation and Development Branch as the Member Secretary.
The committee will include, among others, Executive Officers of Silchar, Sonai, Lakhipur Municipal Boards and Circle Officers and all village panchayat secretaries including Block Development Officers and all Town Inspectors as members.
Deputy Commissioner, Cachar, Keerthi Jalli issued an order to this effect here on Tuesday mentioning the duties and responsibilities of the committee, wherein it is stated that the committee will have to scrutinise all the checklists supplied by the beneficiaries as per the guidelines mentioned in Orunodoi Scheme and the Block Development Officers will have to see that the checklists received from the rural areas have been signed by respective Gaon Panchayat Secretaries, in addition to that Executive Officers of the municipal boards have to ensure that the checklists received from the urban areas have been signed by respective Town Inspectors after due verification of the particulars.
It also stated that the committee members can use Jyoti Kala Kendra at the office premises of the Deputy Commissioner for central scrutiny after pre-scrutiny at individual offices maintaining all COVID-19 protocols. The committee will follow the timelines for implementation of Orunodoi Scheme, the order stated. Meanwhile, the process of scrutinising the checklists has begun on Wednesday and will continue till Friday on a mission mode.
