Screening camp for Thalassemia to be held at 7 medical colleges including SMCH on 15 Nov
way2barak, Nov.10: Assam State Blood Transfusion Council (ASBTC) under the aegis of Department of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of Assam is organising a screening camp for Thalassemia at 7 medical colleges and hospitals of the state including Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on 15 November, 2022 from 9 AM onwards. Check the details now.
Eligible beneficiaries:
- Relatives of those children who are already diagnosed with thalassemla.
- Children below 14 years of age with the following symptoms.
Symptoms of Thalassemia:
• Fatigue • Weakness • Chest pain • Difficulty in breathing • Bone pain • Pale or yellowish skin • Facial bone deformities • Slow growth • Abdominal swelling • Dark urine.
If the child or the relatives of children with thalassemia are suffering from any of the above symptoms, they should be screened at any of the Medical Colleges & Hospitals mentioned here on November 15, 2022.
