Bike borne miscreants again snatches ₹5 lakh from near Capital Point, Silchar

Feb. 3: Incidents of chain, money & mobile snatching continues unabated in Barak Valley. On 20 January, 2022, Rs. 1.5 lakh was snatched from a lady by two bike borne miscreants near Park Road, Silchar. On 2 February, Rs. 4 lakh was stolen in a similar manner from a person after he came out of SBI Badarpur Branch. Within 24 hours of the Badarpur incident, Silchar again witnessed another such case. As per reports, a man after withdrawing Rs.5 lakh from HDFC Bank at Park Road was walking towards Capital Travels Point, when his money was snatched away by 2 persons who came on a motorbike.

The two bike-borne miscreants suddenly came from behind and snatched the bag from the hand of the man identified as Nakib Ahmed Barbhuiya. Before he could understand anything, the snatchers went away with the bag containing the money at a great speed. Immediately, he raised a hue and cry. People soon gathered there and informed the police. On reaching the spot, police started investigation into this incident.

The modus operandi being the same, panic has spread among the people of the town. People are now scared to withdraw money from the bank.
