Sashanka Sekhar Dhar appointed GB President of Cachar College

Jan. 17: In a latest development, Sashanka Sekhar Dhar has been appointed as the new President of Governing Body of Cachar College, Silchar. The college was functioning since many months without a permanent Governing Body President. Finally, Director of Higher Education (DHE), Assam appointed Mr Dhar to this post on Monday.

Sashanka Sekhar Dhar was the Senior Manager of UCO Bank. He took voluntary retirement in 2001 and involved himself in various social service activities. He is also the GB President of Pranabananda Vidyamandir, Silchar, Treasurer of Shiv Sundari Nari Shikshashram, Silchar, Central Executive Committee Member of National Bamboo Mission. Post retirement, he joined the BJP and at present is the District Executive Member of Cachar BJP.
