Sarbananda Sonowal & Gaurav Gogoi casts their vote during 1st Phase

March 27: Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal on Saturday cast his vote at a polling centre in Dibrugarh. The first phase of Assembly elections is underway in Assam. Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi also cast his vote in the first phase on Saturday. Gogoi cast his vote at a polling center in Jorhat.

Voting for the 47 constituencies of Assam during the Phase 1 of Assam Assembly Election, 2021 has began on Saturday morning 7 AM. Long queues could be seen outside polling booths with voters and election officials adhering to COVID-19 protocols. An estimated 9.47 per cent of electors exercised their franchise till 9 am in 47 constituencies of Assam. Altogether 264 candidates, including 23 women are in the fray.
