Sanghamitra Ladies Club distribute kits comprising of food & essential items to flood victims

May 25: The ongoing flood has affected a huge multitude of people in Cachar district. Although the river water has gone down considerably below the danger level, yet by then, many people were rendered homeless as river water flooded their home. As a good Samaritan, many individuals and organisations have come forward to help those people who are now staying in various relief camps.

Sanghamitra Ladies Club members also joined hands in helping the flood victims. On Wednesday, they distributed 40 packets of food items and 2 liter packaged drinking water bottles per head to the flood victims who took shelter at Joykumar Pathshala. Club President Gouri Bhowal along with other members Sudipa Ghosh, Chandrima Dutta, Chandana Purkayastha, Ajanta Das, Kabita Khandelwal, Aparna Kar, Neeru Sharma, Sampa Banik were present during the relief distribution. They distributed dal, salt, spices, mustard oil, flat rice, sugar, detergent soap, Lifebuoy soap, candle and match box, biscuits, packet snacks, Amul Tazza milk, potato, onion to each of the families who took shelter at the school.

Teachers of Joykumar Pathshala have appreciated the humanitarian works undertaken by the members of Sanghamitra Ladies Club.
