Sand artist from Assam pays tribute to Tarun Gogoi
Nov. 25: As a mark of tribute to the former chief minister Tarun Gogoi who breathed his last on Monday, sand artist Ranjan Saikia created a sand sculpture of Tarun Gogoi at Gabhoru riverside in Dhekiajuli in Assam. Ranjan Saikia is a TET teacher by profession but has mastered the skill of making sand art. Earlier, Ranjan Saikia made sand images of APJ Abdul Kalam, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, renowned scientist Einstein, Bhupen Hazarika. Apart from this, he has also made images conveying social messages.
Ranjan Saikia later on tweeted the sand image of Gogoi made by him on 24 November. On the image, he wrote, “RIP Tarun Gogoi Sir. We will miss you Sir.”

The veteran Congress leader breathed his last at 5.34 PM on Monday in Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH). He was 86. The three-time CM has been on life-support during the past two days following multi-organ failure on 21 November.
