Samir K Sinha replaces Paban Borthakur as new Principal Secretary to Assam CM

May 10: On the same day, after taking oath as the Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma appointed Principal Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Assam, Samir Kumar Sinha as the Principal Secretary of the new Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Sinha has replaced former Principal Secretary Paban Borthakur. Paban Borthakur has been appointed as the Additional Chief Secretary of the Cultural Affairs department.

In an order issued by the Assam government, it was stated, “In the interest of public service, Shri Samir Kumar Sinha, IAS (RR-1994), Principal Secretary to the Govt. of Assam, Finance, Health & Family Welfare and Transformation & Development Departments and Additional Principal Resident Commissioner, Assam Bhawan, New Delhi, is transferred and substantively posted as Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Assam with additional charge of Principal Secretary to the Govt. of Assam, Finance Department and Additional Principal Resident Commissioner, Assam Bhawan, New Delhi.”
