Salaries of 6,700 contractual employees engaged with updating of NRC still pending!

November 17: After the former state National Register of Citizens (NRC) Coordinator Prateek Hajela was replaced by Hitesh Dev Sarma, the mammoth exercise is now literally running without a ‘Boss.’ This is so because it was learnt that after joining, Hitesh Dev Sarma has gone on a month leave.

Meanwhile,  Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSs) trained guns at both the centre and the state for not disbursing salaries to at least 6,700 contractual employees engaged with updating the NRC. Further, NorthEast Now has reported that around 5,500 contractual employees of WIPRO are also yet to receive their salaries, because of which most of the employees have stopped their pending work at the various NRC Seva Kendras. The KMSS has demanded the immediate release of the pending salaries of these employees.
