Rotary Club hands over solar kits to Women’s College
way2barak, June 8: In a bid to raise awareness about the importance of solar energy, encourage people, especially youths to use solar enabled appliances, Rotary Club of Silchar handed over solar kits to Women’s College Silchar on Thursday.
At a brief function held at the college in the presence of Dr Devashree Datta, principal in-charge of the college and Dr Ajanta Das, faculty from the Department of Education, Ramanuj Gupta, president Rotary Club Silchar along with Devashish Chakraborty, the president elect of the club handed over the solar kits to the college.
Ramanuj Gupta said that in the present times, Government is encouraging and supporting the use of solar enabled kits so save environment and save energy. Hence, Rotary Club of Silchar has made a humble effort to extend solar kits to the college so that students and college staff can use the kits which comes with mobile charging facilities as well.
Dr Devashree Datta appreciated the efforts and social concerns of Rotary Club of Silchar towards facilitating learning and academic/ administrative activities through the use of solar lights convenient for the fraternity. Expressing her gratitude to Rotary Club of Silchar, Dr Datta put forward the fact that Rotary Club of Silchar has always extended their hands of cooperation towards the college since long. She expressed her belief that the same spirit would be maintained by the organization in the coming days. Dr Ajanta Das appreciated the efforts of the Club for the cause of the college.
