RMC fraternity showcase their patriotic fervour as part of ‘Azadi-ka-Amrit Mahotsav’
Aug. 12: Radhamadhab College, Silchar (RMC) reverberated with the patriotic fervour today. A huge rally was taken out on Friday morning as part of the Azadi-ka-Amrit Mahotsav. Students, alumni, teachers, office staff, parents- all participated in a ‘Tiranga Rally’ waving the tricolour amid slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram.’
The ‘Tiranga Rally’ led by the college Principal, Dr Debashish Roy marked the beginning of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ celebration on the occasion of the 75 years of Indian Independence.
The RMC fraternity showcase their patriotic fervour, which was visible from the enthusiastic participation of all the stakeholders. A vehicle (jeep) was beautifully decorated with tricolour balloons and national flags. All the participants including teachers and students carried National Flags in their hands. Patriotic songs were played during the rally using a sound system.
The ‘Tiranga Rally’ started from the college premises at 7.30 in the morning on Friday. At Rangirkhari point, the college Principal along with teachers and students garlanded the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Also, floral tributes were paid to Netaji. The rally then went along the main points of Silchar town- Hospital Road, Premtola, Shillongpatty and returned back through Central Road. At around 9.30, the ‘Tiranga Rally’ reached back to the college.
Later on, expressing his views, Dr Debashish Roy, Principal of the College said, “Today, we took out a ‘Tiranga Rally’. I am thankful to all our students, teachers, staff, alumni for participating with great enthusiasm. Tomorrow, we will conduct art competition. On 15 August, after the ceremonial flag hoisting, a cultural programme will also be organised. I thank our Prime Minister and Chief Minister for organising the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ programme and thereby enabling us to celebrate our 75th Independence Day with pomp and splendour.”
