Rice distributed free of cost among beneficiaries without ration card in Borjalenga
August 13: The Government of Assam is distributing free rice to the beneficiaries who do not have ration cards. Such a scheme was declared by the state government keeping in mind the adverse situation that has arisen among the people of the poor families due to the current corona pandemic situation. It is in this connection that free rice was distributed on Thursday in Borjalenga GP.
150 beneficiaries were given rice at the Borjalenga Panchayat office of Dholai assembly constituency on Thursday. Each of them got 15 kg rice. The distribution ceremony was inaugurated by Borjalenga Mandal BJP President Sushil Ranjan Dhar. Also present during the occasion were Borjalenga Gram panchayat representative nominee Satyendra Roy, Anchalik Panchayat nominee Ajoy Deb, 6 No ward member’s representative Sudhendra Roy, local BJP leader Haripada Raha and other GP representatives.
Speaking during the occasion, Borjalenga Mandal BJP president Sushil Ranjan Dhar said, “Amidst COVID-19 pandemic, the priority on development schemes and projects has not gone haywire. Under the leadership of our minister Parimal Shuklavaidya the developmental work will continue in our area.” He also urged every representative of the GP to help the the people during the pandemic. He further urged upon all to maintain the COVID-19 protocol.
