Revised NFSA rice allotted in Cachar

Dec. 19: Rice for the month of January, 2021 under National Food Security Act (NFSA) has been allotted in Cachar district. Additional Deputy Commissioner in-charge of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs issued an order on Friday wherein it was stated that under Silchar Sub-Division 10,616.18 quintal of Antadaya Anna Yojana rice has been allotted, whereas Priority Household rice allotted is 51,065.47 quintal with the total allocation being 61,681.65 quintal.

Under Lakhipur Sub-Division, Antadaya Anna Yojana rice allotted is 2368.44 quintal and 10,755.94 quintal allotted under Priority Household rice with total allocation being 13124.38 quintal. It further stated that allocation of food grains has been made 35 kg rice per Antadaya Anna Yojana card holder at free of cost and effecting 3kg less in total against Antadaya Anna Yojana quota and 99.75% against Priority Household quota at free of cost.

It also further stated that as per norms of National Food Security Act, 2013  and tender agreement, the tier-1 contractor of National food security act rice will transport the allotted quantity of rice from Food storage Depot, Food Corporation of India to the respective godown of Gaon Panchayat Samabay Samiti and submit bills with acknowledgement of Gaon Panchayat Samabay Samiti for payment in due course. The tier-II transporters will ensure door step delivery of allotted quantity of rice from “Gaon panchayat Samabay Samiti” godown to each Fair price shops under the respective “Gaon Panchayat Samabay Samiti” after obtaining proper receipts from the respective Fair price Shops.

All area officers of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs will strictly monitor the distribution of food grains issued under National Food Security Act for the month of January 2021 quota. Penal action will be taken against Fair price shop owners, if found realising any amount from the beneficiaries. They will also ensure that there should not be any deviation from the fixed quantity of food grains allotted to the beneficiaries by any unscrupulous traders. It was informed that the last date of lifting of National food security act rice for the month of January 2021 quota is 31 December, 2020.
