Result of Gunotsav 2022 declared: Sivasagar bags 1st position, Cachar in 17th place
Hailakandi secured 18th position, whereas Karimganj in 22nd place
way2barak, Sept.5: The results of the recently concluded Assam Gunotsav 2022 was declared by the State Education Department on Monday. Out of the 33 districts, Sivasagar district bagged the 1st position as 52,77% of schools in the district got A+ Grade. Majuli secured the 2nd position with 27.15 schools securing A+ Grade. The 3rd position went to Nalbari district, where 20.70% schools were awarded A+ Grade. The district wise ranking was based on the basis of schools securing A+ Grades.
Assam conducted Gunotsav for the 1st time when Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma was the Education Minister during the Sarbananda Sonowal-led BJP government in the state. However, with the change of guards in the Education Ministry, it was later discontinued. Gunotsav in 2022 was conducted in 3 phases to ensure quality education with improved learning outcomes. However, due to natural calamities, Gunotsav was postponed in 6 districts of Assam, which were then assessed from 3 to 6 August, 2022. These six districts are Cachar, Hailakandi, Dima Hasao, Hojai, South Salmara and Mankachar. Apart from this, the left-out schools of Barpeta, Morigaon, Kamrup and Lakhimpur districts also conducted Gunotsav along with these 6 districts.
Gunotsav 2022 was conducted in 41,879 schools of Assam, thereby covering a total of 33 districts.z
Grade wise Schools:
- A+ Grade: 4,826 schools (12% schools got A+)
- A Grade: 17,045 schools (41% schools got A)
- B Grade: 13,208 schools (32% schools got B)
- C Grade: 4,667 schools (11% schools got C)
- D Grade: 2,132 schools (5% schools got D)
Cachar district secured 17th position out of the total of 33 districts. Hailakandi achieved 18th position, whereas, Karimganj bagged the 22nd position. In Cachar, a total of 211 schools got A+ Grade, 1.109 A Grade, 646 B Grade, 175 C Grade and 51 D Grade. A total of 2,192 schools were evaluated by the External Evaluators in Cachar district during Gunotsav, 2022.
In Hailakandi district, a total of 1,269 schools were evaluated, out of which, 114 schools secured A+ Grade, 584 A Grade, 428 B Grade, 113 C Grade and 30 D Grade. In Karimganj district, Gunotsav was conducted in 1,864 schools. Here, 135 schools secured A+ Grade, 647 A Grade, 685 B Grade, 279 C Grade and 118 D Grade.
The Grades were given on the basis of the evaluation done by the External Evaluators. The External Evaluators went around the schools, examined minutely each and every aspect and conducted tests in subjects and skills. Apart from interacting with the students, they also interacted with the School Managing Committee, Mother’s Group and people from the Community.
