Restrictions imposed in Hailakandi to contain COVID pandemic
April 27: The Hailakandi district administration has announced imposition of night curfew following upsurge in COVID cases on Tuesday. The administration said that the night curfew to remain in force from Tuesday till Saturday will be from 8 pm to 5 am. “No movement of individuals will be allowed during the entire duration of night curfew”, it stated.
Only essential and emergency services are exempted from the purview of the night curfew. The administration also stated that all business establishments will have to down shutters at 6 pm until further orders. It stated that restaurants and dhabas can only operate the ‘take away section’ and in no way serve customers at their premises after 6 pm.
“The restrictions have been imposed to contain the COVID situation and to ensure health safety of the people at large,” said a senior official of the administration.
