Responding to nation’s call, Army sets up ICU 45 Oxygen beds in Tezpur Medical College in 3 days
May 13: Responding to the call of nation in the time of coronavirus pandemic, the Indian Army has stood besides the government in combating the deadly virus. The 4 Corps of the Indian Army has set up 45 oxygen beds and 5 ICUs at the Tezpur Medical College Hospital (TMCH) in a record time of just 3 days. The Assam Government had asked the 4 Corps of the Indian Army which has its headquarters at Tezpur in Assam for help in setting up of more ICU and oxygen beds at Tezpur Medical College. The 4 Corps of the Indian Army immediately responded and accomplished the task.
Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma was all in praises for the 4 Corps of the Indian Army for achieving this feat, whic would be of immense help in the treatment of Covid patients. Taking to his twitter handle on Thursday morning, the Chief Minister wrote, “Oxygen beds are fast emerging as our biggest challenge. At our request, 4 Corps HQ at Tezpur has set up 5 ICU and 45 Oxygen beds in Tezpur Medical College in a record time of 3 days. What a feat! Grateful to GOC & his team for such commendable work!”
