Renowned artist Benu Mishra passes away

May 29: Renowned artist from Assam, Benu Misra passed away in Guwahati on Wednesday morning at his Kahilipara residence. He was 80 years old at the time of his demise.

Benu Misra was the founder president of Guwahati Artists’ Guild (formed in 1976) which is one of the most important platforms for aspiring artists in the state. former senior art adviser and deputy director of state Directorate of Information and Public Relations.

Benu Mishra studied art at Shantiniketan in West Bengal. His death his cast a spell of gloom in the state.
