Regular water supply in Silchar town disrupted due to displaced suction pipes: PHE

May 19: As many new areas of Silchar town and its outskirts are gradually inundated by flood water, electricity supply in many areas were disrupted. Meanwhile, since Thursday morning, regular supply of water by PHE has also been disrupted. Informing this, Executive Engineer of PHE Silchar Division-I stated, “Regular water supply from Silchar Town scheme is disrupted due to displaced suction pipes at intake by the rising water level and currents. PHE staff and officials are continuously working to rectify the situation.Kindly bear with us. The  inconvenience is regretted.”
