Ranoj Pegu visits several institutions in Karimganj including Platinum Jubilee Celebration of Latu Model HS School

March 7: State Education Minister Dr ranoj Pegu is on a two-day tour of Barak Valley. On Monday, he went to Karimganj district and visited several educational institutions over there. Dr Pegu went to Latu in India -Bangladesh border, a historic place where 18 soldiers laid down their lives in Sepoy Mutiny of 1857. There he attended the Platinum Jubilee Celebration of Latu Model HS School in Karimganj which was established in 1947. During the programme, MP Kripanath Malla, MLAs Kamalakhya Dey Purakayastha, Kaushik Rai and former MLA Mission Ranjan Das were also present.

During the day, state Education Minister Dr Ranoj Pegu  laid the foundation stone of academic block of the college and inaugurated academic block of Central Public School, Badarpur. He also had a meaningful discussion on School Education in the light of NEP at KNB Women’s College, Badarpur.

Dr Pegu then inaugurated the Gallery cum Community Hall of M R Choudhury High School School at Nayabazar along the Indo-Bangladesh border. The community hall was constructed by fund under Border Area Development Programme. He took stock of the various issues of the school. The minister also visited Karimganj Senior Secondary School of Science and discussed various issues of the institution. Dr Pegu also inaugurated the silver jubilee gate of Saraswati Vidya Niketan, Karimganj. Finally, Education Minister laid the foundation stone for Model Women College at Karimganj.

The state Education Minister was also accompanied by  Adviser to the Education Dept Prof Nani Gopal Mahanta, MLAs Kaushik Rai, Khalil Uddin Mazumdar, Mihir Kanti Shome, Abdul Aziz and ERDF Chairman Mahbubul Hoque.
