Railway Board sanctions final location survey of Lanka to Silchar new line at a cost of Rs.43.23 crore

June 3: The Deputy Director Works (G) of Railway Board in a letter issued to the General manager of Northeast Frontier Railway on 1 June, 2022 intimated the sanction of final location survey of Lanka to Silchar via Chandranathpur (208 km) New Line.

The said letter stated, “Sanction of the Ministry of Railways is hereby communicated to the final location survey of Lanka to Silchar via Chandranathpur (208 km) New Line at a cost of Rs. 42.23 crore. The expenditure is chargeable to the Demand No.85- Major Head 3001- Indian Railways Policy Formulation, Direction, Research and other Misc. Organisations (Miscellaneous expenditure General)- Annexure A- Surveys. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.”
