মোমবাতি মিছিল থেকে আওয়াজ, রাজনীতিটা সহ্য করা যাচ্ছে না
Questions raised during a candle rally at Meherpur on the role of politicians

২ নভেম্বরঃ পম্পি-প্রিয়ার আত্মার চিরশান্তি কামনায় এবং ঘটনার নেপথ্য অনুসন্ধান করে প্রকৃত দোষীদের গ্রেফতারের দাবিতে শনিবার সন্ধ্যায় মেহেরপুর এলাকায় এক মোমবাতি মিছিল অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। দুর্ঘটনাস্থল থেকে মিছিলের সূচনা হয়। পুরো পথ ঘুরে শেষ হয় দুর্গাপল্লী দুর্গামণ্ডপের সামনে।

দুর্ঘটনার রাতে এবং এর পরদিন রাজদীপ রায় ও আমিনুল হক লস্কর ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়লেও এ দিন মিছিলে তাঁরা বা তাঁদের ঘনিষ্ঠ ব্যক্তিদের দেখা যায়নি। বরং মোমবাতি হাতে মিছিলের নেতৃত্ব দেন বিজেপি নেতা বিবেক পোদ্দার, আশিস হালদাররা।

তাঁরা আকারে-ইঙ্গিতে রাজদীপ-আমিনুলকেও পুরো ঘটনাপ্রবাহে দোষী হিসেবে সন্দেহ করেন। বলেন, পোস্তবোঝাই সিন্ডিকেটের লরিটি দুর্ঘটনা ঘটিয়ে ধরা পড়তেই অনেকে দুশ্চিন্তায় পড়ে যান। সে থেকে শুরু হয় রাজনীতির খেলা। তাঁরা ওই খেলা বন্ধ করে ঘটনার গভীরে গিয়ে দোষীদের চিহ্নিত করার জোরালো দাবি জানান।

November 2: A silent march with candle in their hands by a large number of people walked through the streets of Meherpur on Saturday evening. They were on the streets to pay homage to the departed souls of Pomy & Priya who were brutally killed by a lorry at Meherpur on Wednesday.The rally originated from the spot of the accident and came to an end at the Durga Mandap near Meherpur Durga Pally.

Though on the day of the accident and even during the next day, Deputy Speaker Aminul Haque and MP Rajdeep Roy jumped into the scene and was actively visible for long hours, but today neither of them nor their accomplices could be seen in the rally.

With candle in their hands, the rally was led by BJP leaders Vivek Podder, Ashish Halder, Amalendu Das, Amit Roy, Shiva Dev and others. Though not directly, but their indications were clear enough to understand that they blamed Deputy Speaker Aminul Haque and MP Rajdeep Roy in this entire episode.

Later on candles were lighted in front of the photographs of the deceased which were kept near the Durga Mandap. Questions were also raised as to why these leaders were in such a hurry for performing the last rites of the deceased girls?  Grievance was aired by the speakers as to why the family members were not allowed to performed the last rites as per Hindu rituals.
