গুলিযুদ্ধে হত পুলওয়ামা হামলার খলনায়ক কামরান

১৮ ফেব্রুয়ারিঃ ১৭ ঘণ্টা লড়াইয়ের পুলওয়ামা হামলার মূল খলনায়ক কামরানকে মারতে সক্ষম হল ভারতীয় সেনা। সঙ্গে আরও দুই জইশ জঙ্গি নিহত হয়। মৃত্যু হয়েছে এক স্থানীয় বাসিন্দারও। অন্য দিকে, প্রাণ হারান চার সেনা এবং এক পুলিশ কর্মী।

পুলওয়ামার পিংলান গ্রামে একটি বাড়িতে বেশ কয়েক জন জঙ্গি লুকিয়ে রয়েছে, গোয়েন্দা সূত্রে এই খবর পেয়েই রবিবার রাতে অভিযান শুরু হয়েছিল। ভারতীয় সেনার উপস্থিতি টের পেয়ে জঙ্গিরাই প্রথমে গুলি চালাতে শুরু করে। মৃত্যু হয় এক মেজর সহ তিন সেনা কর্মীর।

আহত হন  দক্ষিণ কাশ্মীরের ডিআইজি অমিত কুমার সহ আরও কয়েক জন সেনা ও পুলিশ কর্মীর। বিকেলে জখম এক পুলিশ কর্মীর মৃত্যু হয়। ডিআইজি অমিত কুমারের অবস্থাও গুরুতর। তাঁর পেটে গুলি লেগেছে। তিনি বর্তমানে সেনা হাসপাতালে চিকিতসাধীন। নিহতদের মধ্যে রয়েছেন মেজর ডি এস দোন্ডিয়াল, হেড কনস্টেবল সেভ রাম, অজয় কুমার ও হরি সিং।

গুলির লড়াইয়ে সকালেই মৃত্যু হয় জইশ জঙ্গি কামরানের। হিলাল নামে আরও এক জঙ্গিও গুলিবিদ্ধ হয়ে মারা যায়। তখনও এক জঙ্গি লুকিয়ে ছিল। তার জন্য গোটা এলাকা ঘিরে রাখে নিরাপত্তা বাহিনী। দিনভর গুলির লড়াই চলে। সন্ধ্যার দিকে ওই জঙ্গিরও মৃত্যু হলে শেষ হয় গুলিযুদ্ধ। তবে তার পরিচয় এখনও পাওয়া যায়নি।

February 18: Abdul Rasheed Ghazi, the mastermind of the Pulwama terror attack that killed 40 Indian soldiers, was killed in an encounter with security forces on Monday. He was among three terrorists who were killed in the joint operation by security forces. A joint team of Indian Army’s 55 Rashtriya Rifles, CRPF and Special Operation Group launched a cordon in the wee hours on Monday.

Ghazi, a Pakistani national, is known to be a close associate of terrorist Masood Azhar, the chief of the Jaish-e-Mohammad. He is a veteran of the insurgent war in Afghanistan, waged with the backing of the Pakistani military-intelligence establishment. He is considered to have been an expert in improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Ghazi was in high-demand as a trainer in a number of terror training camps set up by the Pakistan military along the LoC in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). He was considered a senior member of the Jaish-e-Mohammad and a key figure in the recruitment of Kashmiri youth into the cycle of deadly violence.

The 44 CRPF jawans who were martyred in a suicide attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama on Thursday were returning from leave. More than 2500 CRPF personel were travelling in a convoy of 78 vehicles when a Jaish-e-Mohammad suicide bomber rammed a SUV carrying 350 kg of explosives into a bus carrying the CRPF troopers. There were no survivors in the bus. The Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed terror group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
