Protesting farmers react by banging utensils during PM Modi ‘s Mann Ki Baat

Dec. 27: As a reaction against the Centre’s new farm laws, the protesting farmers on Sunday banged utensils in unison while Prime Minister Narendra Modi was delivering his radio speech ‘Mann Ki Baath. The banging of utensils (Thali Bajao) by the protesting farmers seemed to be a mockery of PM Modi’s direction to the Indians to bang utensils to thank Frontline corona warriors during the initial phase of nationwide lockdown.

The protesting farmers have expressed apprehension that the new farm laws would pave the way for eliminating the safety cushion of MSP and do away with the mandi system, leaving them at the mercy of big corporates.
