Prize distribution of Hrishikesh- Shefalikona Sports Meet takes place at DSA Silchar

Feb. 25: The 3-day long Hrishikesh- Shefalikona Annual Sports Meet, 2020-21 came to an end on Friday. The Sports Meet was organised by District Sports Association (DSA), Silchar. The meet began on 22 February and the prize distribution ceremony was organised on 25 February, 2021. Various sport events were held at Silchar Sporting Ground and Town Club Ground.

Present during the prize distribution ceremony were Dr. Ashish Kumar Roy, Dr. Anup Kumar Roy and Dr. Ashima Roy on behalf of the family members of late Hrishikesh & Shefalikona Saha. They were accompanied by the President of DSA Babul Hore and Secretary Bijendra Prasad Singh. Chairman of Silchar Development Authority along with Dr. S. Nandi Purkayastha and others also graced the occasion.

It needs mention here that on 22 February, a grand opening ceremony was held to kick start the Hrishikesh- Shefalikona Annual Sports Meet, 2020-21. A number of sporting events were conducted. For the first time, Marathon race for the female was organised. More than 150 Athletes participated in this Meet.

A cheque of Rs.75,000 was handed over to Silchar DSA by the sponsor family for conducting the sports meet. The money was utilised in conducting the events and purchasing awards. Speaking during the occasion, DSA Secretary Bijendra Prasad Singh thanked the sponsor family for coming up and inspiring the participants by their gracious support.
