Preparations underway at Pachgram for Rahul Gandhi’s poll rally on 9 April

April 8: When the greatest festival of Indian democracy is underway, our own Barak Valley cannot be much behind. Keeping with the election tempo in Assam, Congress President Rahul Gandhi and PM Narendra Modi will be coming to Silchar this week.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi is slated to visit Silchar and Karimganj in order to canvass for its party candidates Sushmita Dev from Silchar and Swarup Das from Karimganj. Mr. Gandhi will be addressing a poll meeting at Panchgram on 9 April at 11 in the morning.

As per a source in the congress, it was learnt that Rahul Gandhi will reach Kumbhirgram Airport and from there he will take a helicopter and land in the field of INTUC at Panchgram. The source informed that Mr. Gandhi will go back to Delhi after the Panchgram meeting.

Braving bad weather, party workers were found to gather at the rally site at Panchgram where work of constructing a huge pandal is being carried on. Preparations were underway.
