Precautionary dose of vaccine must as protection against virus is declining: Covid Task force
July 18: The National Task Force on COVID-19 head Dr VK Paul on Monday said the precaution dose of the vaccine is needed as the protection against the virus is declining.
Dr VK Paul said, “We need to have an optimal protection beyond six months of the second dose. The precaution dose must be pushed in mission mode,” said Paul, adding, “The number of cases is rising in a number of countries. The pandemic is at a low phase and there is a fatigue in people’s mind. We need to make sure that we are fully protected.”
“We need to have optimal protection beyond six months of second dose. The precaution dose must be pushed in mission mode,” he said. India has crossed record 200-crore mark in Covid-19 vaccinations within 18 months of launching the inoculation exercise in January last year.
