Powergrid build and handed over toilet building to Bhatirkupa School

way2barak, 9 June : On 09.06.23, the newly constructed toilet building in Bhatirkupa ME School (Amalgamated with MRC High School ) under Algapur PS as executed through POWERGRID (Silchar unit of NERTS ) is handed over to School Authority in presence of Tridib Roy, ADC in a well-gathered Handing over ceremony with awareness program on cleanliness & toilet maintenance.
ADC Roy & School authority praised highly on the quality of work done and showed gratitude to POWERGRID NERTS team and informed about overall status (Repair in 99 schools & new construction in 8 schools) of project as completed. POWERGRID’s project In-Charge S Paul , DGM Silchar unit thanked district administration and school authority for their overall co-operation during execution. He also informed that all the works are completed successfully with cordination from POWERGRID’s RHQ & CC with able leadership of POWERGRID management especially U Kataki, Head of Region NERTS POWERGRID.

For PGCI, Rahul Rudra Paul, Engineer,  S Ghosh, Junior Engineer, N Paul, S Gogoi,  Rajnish, K Hore were also present alongwith Wahid of DT Construction (executing agency) & Engineer( Education Dept, Hailakandi).

It may be mentioned that in 2015-16 under the Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyan, some toilets were constructed directly through agency by POWERGRID and for some toilets were constructed through SSA for which fund was deposited by POWERGRID NERTS in Hailakandi District under CSR.

As intimated by POWERGRID official, most of the old toilets suffered wear & tear with time, accordingly school-toilets in 99nos of schools are again repaired (cost is apx Rs 1.66 crore ) and 8 nos. schools are newly re-constructed (cost is apx Rs 32 lakh, as same were beyond repair) alongwith providing running water facility from existing or new source in FY 2022-23 & 2023-24 under CSR SVA scheme of POWERGRID in Hailakandi Educational block as intimated by POWERGRID. ADC Roy also congratulated students of the school & all associated about the betterment in performance of students in HSLC under Hailakandi education block. He requested POWERGRID to come foward for worth more CSR works in future.
