Porn film case: Shilpa Shetty files defamation suit of ₹25 crore against 29 media personnel & media houses
July 29: Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty has filed defamation suit in Bombay High Court against 29 media personnel and media houses for ‘doing false reporting and maligning her image’ in a pornographic case in which her husband Raj Kundra is accused. She further alleged that such reports have caused irreparable damage to her reputation. Apart from demanding unconditional apology, Shilpa Shetty has further asked to delete such content and pay Rs.25 crore as compensation. As per reports, hearing in the case at Bombay High Court is scheduled from Friday.
Kundra was arrested on July 19 for making, publishing, and distributing pornography. His wife Shilpa Shetty was also grilled by the Mumbai police in connection with the case and has not got a clean chit yet.
Kundra has been named as the key conspirator by the Mumbai Police which has slapped charges against him under Sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 292 and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) besides relevant sections of the IT Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.
