Popular Bengali singer Kabir Suman hospitalised with severe respiratory problems
June 28: Bengali singer and musician Kabir Suman was admitted to Cabin No 103 of the Woodburn Ward of the state-run SSKM Hospital in Kolkata on Monday morning after he complained of severe respiratory problems. The 72 years old popular singer and former TMC MP, Suman was having severe throat pain and breathing trouble for the last three days. It deteriorated last night and the singer was taken to the hospital early Monday morning. This was informed by sources in the hospital.
Though the rapid-antigen test conducted on him proved negative for COVID-19, doctors at the hospital also carried RT-PCR test, the report of which has not come yet.
Kabir Suman was a member of parliament of India in the 15th Lok Sabha after being elected from the Jadavpur constituency in Kolkata from All India Trinamool Congress from 2009 to 2014.
