This time a police officer was caught while accepting bribe. The Assam Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths arrested the Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of Tihu Police Station under Nalbari district of Assam on last Monday after he was caught red-handed while accepting “illegal gratification.”

ASI Ram Charan Nath was arrested while accepting a bribe amount of Rs 15,000 from one Udhab Talukdar. As per police reports, the accused, Nath demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 for submission of a favourable ‘Case Diary’ to the court for bail by the elder sister and wife of the complainant, who had been arrested and were in judicial custody. As an installment of the bribe, Rs 15000 was asked to be paid on April 29.
