PM Modi condoles loss of lives due to a road accident in Biswanath district of Assam
April 17: Five youths lost their lives in an unfortunate road accident at national highway 15 in Biswanath last night. The deceased were identified as Sanjay Basumatary (17), Koliman Basumatary (21), Bornali Boro (15), Budhimoti Boro (14) and Radhika Daimary (15).
A group of 20 boys and girls were returning late at night when the accident took place as the driver of the vehicle in which they were coming, lost control and the vehicle overturned. The victims were on their way home from a Bihu function. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital, while those who received severe injuries, were shifted to Tezpur Medical College and Hospital.
Taking to his twitter handle, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Deeply pained by the loss of 5 young lives in an unfortunate road accident at Biswanath last night. My condolences to the bereaved families.”

Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over the loss of lives due to a road accident in Biswanath district of Assam. He also prayed for quick recovery of the injured. The Prime Minister Office tweeted; “I am saddened by the loss of lives due to a road accident in Biswanath district of Assam. Condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. I pray that the injured recover at the earliest: PM @narendramodi”
