Ambulance procured through GeM portal financed by AAI donated to Cachar Cancer Hospital

Feb. 10: An ambulance procured through Government e-Market (GeM) portal for the first time to ensure transparency and get best pricing with financial help of Airport Authority of India’s (AAI) Silchar office was handed over to Cachar Cancer Hospital and Research Centre on Wednesday. Deputy Commissioner, Cachar, Keerthi Jalli handed over the ambulance to Padmashree Dr. Ravi Kannan, Director of Cachar Cancer Hospital.

The ambulance was sponsored by Airport Authority of India (AAI), Silchar through their CSR wing. The handing over took place at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Silchar to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the cancer hospital.

Expressing her views, DC Keerthi Jalli said that the ambulance was procured at 12% discount on GeM portal and has come directly from the manufacturer in Maharashtra through the active participation of DDC, SPO, DIO etc. She said, “This is for the 1st time that we have procured any item through GeM portal,” added the Deputy Commissioner.

Dr Ravi Kannan on behalf of Cachar Cancer Hospital thanked the AAI for their cooperation. PK Gorai, Director of Silchhar Airport said that AAI is continuously trying to fulfill the commitment towards society.

GeM is a short form of one stop Government e-Market Place hosted by DGS&D where common user goods and services can be procured. GeM is dynamic, self sustaining and user friendly portal for making procurement by Government officers.
