Pijush Hazarika visits broken embankment at Tarapur Shib Bari; instruct contractors to finish work on war footing

Feb. 10: Minister for Water Resources; Parliamentary Affairs; Information,Public Relations; Printing & Stationery; & Spokesperson, Government of Assam, Pijush Hazarika is on a 2-day tour of Barak Valley. He reached Silchar on Wednesday and participated in a number of programmes.

Accompanied by MLA Kaushik Rai and Dipayan Chakraborty along with Deputy Commissioner Keerthi on Thursday, Minister Pijush Hazarika visited the embankment and checked anti-erosion work which started in 2020 in the Tarapur Shibbari area of Silchar. There the Minister rebuked the contractors for delaying the work for such a long period of time and gave strict orders to complete the work on a war-footing.

Taking to his twitter handle, Minister Hazarika wrote, “I visited the embankment and checked anti-erosion work which started in 2020 in the Tarapur Shibbari area of Silchar today. I gave strict instructions to the contractor and departmental officials to complete the work at the earliest as this is quite behind schedule.”
