It is however not clear on what time scale this wave will occur, but should prepare for new waves.” Professor K Vijay Raghavan, the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Centre said this during a press briefing on COVID-19 situation in India on Wednesday.
Professor K VijayRaghavan, further said, “(COVID-19) variants are transmitted the same as original strain. It doesn’t have properties of new kinds of transmission.” He further explained, “It infects humans in a manner that makes it more transmissible as it gains entry, makes more copies and goes on, same as the original.”
