No lockdown, state gearing up to celebrate Bihu

April 8: Amid surge in number of COVID-19 cases, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that there is no possibility of lockdown in the state. Rather, Assam is moving ahead to celebrate Bihu in a befitting manner. He, however, urged upon people to get tested, if they have any symptoms. But at the same time, Himanta Biswa Sarma appealed to the people not to panic, but to remain alert. He also informed that the COVID-19 testing will be intensified in coming days. SOPs for the Bihu celebration will also be released in the state.
