‘Passport Mela’ successfully organised at Silchar by Cachar Police

way2barak, Oct.30: Cachar Police organised a “Passport Mela” at the office of the Superintendent of Police, Cachar, Silchar on 30 October, 2022. The Passport Mela was inaugurated by MP Dr. Rajdeep Roy , MLA Silchar Dipayan Chakraborty , MLA Lakhipur Kaushik Rai, Deputy Commissioner Rohan Kumar Jha in the presence of Superintendent of Police Numal Mahatta.

 A unique initiative by Cachar Police, the Passport Mela was held for people to complete their pending police verification. Earlier, Cachar Police informed that people across the District whose Passport verification were pending from long time were asked to come at the “Passport Mela” with all required documents as informed over phone call to make this Mela a grand success.

Police Super Numal Mahatta said, “It has come to notice that a large number of verification reports for new/ renewal passport have been pending for long. Our honest effort through this Mela is to clear them at one go.”

About 700 passport applicants including women and children came for verification & the process was completed successfully.
