Parimal Suklabaidya visits Wildlife Safari cum Rescue Centre project site in Dholai
Feb.19: Environment & Forests Minister Parimal Suklabaidya visited the proposed Wildlife Safari cum Rescue Centre project site being set up in Dholai under Cachar Forest Division, Silchar. Visiting the site the Minister directed the DFO, Cachar to expedite the setting of wildlife safari cum rescue centre. The centre once set up,will highly contribute to the rescue & rehabilitation process of animals in Barak Valley region which is characterised by enriched flora & fauna added by a highly developed hotspot of tourism through the wildlife safari which
will be developed simultaneously.
Minister Suklabaidya also paid visit to the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bio-diversitypark in Dholai (located in the adjacent plot) to take stock of the overallprogress of the park. Notably, adventure sport like zip line has been set up in the biodiversity park to attract tourists . Till 31 of January, more than 8,000 tourists have visited the park since its inauguration on 10 January, 2021. During the visit he also discussed about the further upliftment of the park with cooperation from various stakeholders including CCF, Southern Assam zone.
