Parimal Suklabaidya lays foundation stone of Sonacherra & Balicherra dyke in Borjalenga
Nov. 21: Assam Fisheries,Excise, Forest and Environment Minister Parimal Suklabaidya on Friday laid the foundation stone of the construction works of Dyke along both banks of river Sonacherra and Balicherra from Dwarbond to Chotojalenga at Borjalenga Gaon in Cachar’s Dholai Assembly Constituency. The fund sanctioned for the purpose was estimated an amount of Rs. 2 crore under Chief Minister’s Special Package.
Speaking on the occasion Minister Parimal Suklabaidya said,“During the earlier Congress government, the disaster management works were started during monsoon and as such the works could not be completed as per plan and estimate. Such works always remain incomplete and people do not get fruitful results although public money is used in those works. I have tried to prevent such misuse of government funds and to ensure fruitful results to save the people from natural calamities.”
The Minister also requested the government officials of the steering committee to ensure that the work is of high quality and directed the water resource officials of Hailakandi Division to complete the projects within stipulated time frame.
During the occasion, Borjalenga Anchalik Panchayat Member Bulti Deb, Additional Chief Engineer Pardip kumar Turung, Rezaul Mazumder, Executive Engineer of Hailakandi division, SDO Hailakandi Division,West Dholai ZP Member Lakshmi Rani Yadav, District Media Incharge Mohitosh Tanti, Borjalenga Gaon Panchayat President Pratibha Rani Roy, Borjalenga Block Mandal President Sushil Ranjan Dhar, Borjalenga Block Mandal Yuva Morcha President Sujit Kumar Das, General Secretary Bishnu Dayal Goala, Partha Sen, Manna Deb, Sanjay Deb were present among others.
