Parimal Suklabaidya distribute scooters to 1307 male & female meritorious students in Cachar

way2barak, Dec.13: The ceremonial distribution ceremony of scooty under the Dr Banikanta Kakati merit  award of Pragyan Bharati Scheme was held at the auditorium of Gurucharan College, Silchar on Tuesday. The programme was organised by the District Administration Cachar to distribute the scooters amongst the meritorious girl students who secured 60% and the boys who secured 75% in HSLC examination, 2022. It is pertinent to mention here that 1307 students from Cachar  district have been found eligible to receive the award.

Parimal Suklabaidya, Minister of Transport, Excise & Fisheries, Government of Assam, the chief guest of the occasion in presence of MLA Silchar, Dipayan Chakraborty, Deputy Commissioner, Rohan Kumar Jha and other dignitaries distributed the scooters.

Speaking on the occasion Minister Suklabaidya said that a lot of initiatives were taken up by the present government for the development of education. The Minister has also asked the students who received scooty to wear helmets and follow road safety measures. The minister also expressed his hopes that the meritorious students who got the scooters from the government would excel in their studies and contribute towards nation building.

Silchar legislator Dipayan Chakraborty while addressing the gathering said praised the students who got the scooters for their brilliant performance in the HSCL examination and wished that they continue to perform well even in the Higher Secondary exam. He also thanked the Chief Minister for giving scooters to the students, which would also inspire others to do well in HSLC.

DC Rohan Kumar Jha too congratulated the awardees and wished them a bright future. DC Jha also lauded the efforts taken by the state government to encourage the meritorious students and said that students should focus on their studies and take this as motivational factor to achieve success in their life. Principal of GC College Silchar, Bibhas Dev too congratulated the students for their achievement.

Later, 11 students received scooters along with commendation certificates from the minister and other dignitaries.
