Pact signed between Assam & Meghalaya for settlement of interstate boundary dispute
March 29: An agreement was signed between Assam and Meghalaya on Tuesday to resolve the long standing border dispute between the two neighbouring states. The Chief Ministers of Assam and Meghalaya, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and Conrad Sangma, signed the agreement in presence of Union home minister Amit Shah in the national capital.
Commenting on this peace process, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, “In another milestone towards fulfilling PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s resolve of a peaceful and dispute free North East, today a historic agreement was signed by the CM Assam Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma and CM Meghalaya Shri Conrad Sangma for the settlement of their interstate boundary.”
