Assam govt gives one-time financial relief to 6,124 namgharias & 2,438 temple priests

way2barak, Dec.20: An one-time financial relief was given to 6,124 namgharias and 2,438 temple priests on Tuesday in a programme held at Dispur, Guwahati. Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma handed over the cheques in presence of his cabinet colleagues Ranjit Kr Dass, Jogen Mohan and Bimal Borah. The beneficiaries comprised of those namgharias and priests who suffered a lot during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Expressing his views, CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “Namghars and Mandirs are important component of Assam’s culture. As part of our effort to preserve our rich culture, handed over one-time financial relief to 6,124 namgharias and 2,438 Mandir priests who were affected during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
