Out of 35,603 tests done on Monday, 2640 found positive in Assam; 16 deaths registered

Sept. 21:  On Monday,a  total of 35,603 tests were done in the state, out of which, 2640 were detected as positive. With this, the state tally of novel coronavirus has now gone upto 1,59,320, out of which 31,404 are active cases. In a tweet, State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Alert ~ 2640 #COVID cases detected today out of 35603 tests. Positivity Rate- 7.42% Kamrup M- 574; Jorhat- 240; Lakhimpur- 206; Golaghat- 198.”

Further, during the day, another 16 persons died due to COVID-19, thereby taking the death toll of the state to 578.
