One-time pension of ₹4 lakh to be paid to Anganwadi workers after attaining 60 years of age

Rationalisation of Anganwadi centers in Cachar district to be done, says Minister Ajanta Neog

March 25: Social Welfare Minister Ajanta Neog has said that areas of Anganwadi centers in Cachar district will be rationalised. She made this statement at a meeting with officials of the Social Welfare Department here in Silchar on Friday. During the meeting, Lakhipur MLA Kaushik Rai proposed rationalisation stating that the area of ​​Lakhipur ICDS is as far as Berenga near Silchar town.

Responding to the proposal made by Lakhipur MLA, Koushik Rai, the Social Welfare Minister said that rationalisation would be done upto that area too. During the meeting, the Finance and Social Welfare Minister said that the MLAs were also asked to monitor the distribution of nutritious food to the children of Anganwadi Centers so that proper and efficient distribution of nutritious food could be done. During the meeting, District Social Welfare Officer Saswati Som informed that for the year 2021-22,an amount of Rs 8crore 39lakh has been allocated for the supply of nutritious foods for the Anganwadi children.

During the meeting, the Minister for Social Welfare and Finance, Ajanta Neog said that a one-time pension of Rs. 4 lakh will be paid to the Anganwadi workers after attaining 60 years of age, Rs 3 lakh will be paid to workers of mini Anganwadi centers and Rs 2 lakh will be paid to the Anganwadi helpers as one time pension. Udarbond MLA Mihir Kanti Shome, Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty and Deputy commissioner, Cachar , Keerthi Jalli also took part in the meeting.
