On Tuesday, 2 tests +ve in Cachar; 1 without travel history
July 7: On Tuesday, two more persons tested COVID-19 positive in Cachar district. Disclosing this information, District Media Expert, Sumon Choudhury during routine press briefing said that they have received the 1st lot of test reports. As per the first lot, 2 persons tested positive in Cachar.
Out of the two new COVID-19 positive cases, one of them has a travel history from Jammu & Kashmir, who was quarantined at a hotel in Silchar . The patient was identified as 27-years-old Udit Baidya from Kabuganj in Cachar district. He is asymptomatic.
The second positive case is of a person without any travel history. He is 27-years-old Nobidul Islam from Kanakpur, Cachar and is reported to be symptomatic. The patient developed Influenza Like Illness (ILI) symptoms. This patient also visited some doctors due to health complications. As he has fever & cough, he went to Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). His swab sample was collected there. Later on his report came as positive.
Sumon Choudhury further informed that as of Tuesday afternoon, information came about only these two positive cases. Some more reports are yet to come. In case of any more positive cases, the same will be informed by the health department.
