Omicron Covid-19 tally reaches 213 in India on Wednesday
Centre asks states to cut number of people attending marriage & funerals, restrict numbers in offices
Dec. 22: India has reported 213 cases of Omicron variant so far with Delhi reporting the most cases at 57, followed by Maharashtra at 54 and Telengana at 24. Union health secretary Rajesh Bhushan urged states to cut the number of people attending marriage and funerals and restrict numbers in offices, industries and public transport.
The health secretary also pointed out that Omicron is at least three times more transmissible than the Delta strain based on current scientific evidence. As per reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a meeting on the situation amid fresh concerns caused by the Omicron variant.
