Number falls below 1000, only 875 new cases of COVID-19 in Assam on Sunday

Sept. 27: After couple of months, the number of positive cases have come below the 1000-mark in Assam. On Sunday, out of 15,347 tests only 875 were detected as COVID-19 positive. With this, the state tally of noble coronavirus has now gone upto 1,69,985, out of which, 31,020 are active cases. The number of new cases is directly correlated with the number of tests performed. In a tweet, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Alert ~ 875 #COVID cases detected today out of 15347 tests. Positivity Rate- 5.70% Kamrup M- 214; Jorhat- 159.”

Further, during the day, 17 more persons in the state died due to COVID-19, thereby taking the death tally of the state to 566.
